Life goes on as this.....

When did we meet for the first time…..? It was on October 11th ‘04 that we started our journey together. We met each other in the seminar hall of the great doeacc center, with the most formal smile which, there after we never furnished. What was that we had in our minds…, might be a high salary-job after three years, three years of funs or the fear of early days ragging? Or even might be our confusion in how to deal with Manitabh and Parveen (fortunately Manitabh learned Malayalam!!).

Early days were funs…fear of ragging, fresher’s day, Christmas, preparation for Sania mam’s class, the microprocessors, AND gates, NOR gates, the shiver u had when she asked questions. Then our dear Prasoon Sir…His deadlines for the cqlist1, cqlist2…, the way he asked questions, the answers we gave, the “I will give you…2 marks” offers…!! Remember the way he invited us for his wedding…and the trip to Waynad.

The days in Hira hostel with chats, Ashwamedhams, politics, meetings in Sush and Rish Room, the funs of Ali, Jeevan and Ajith, midnight walks to kattangal for black tea, Walk to Krishnettan for breakfast, “water-less” mornings… were in fact new experiences for us. Films at Ajesh’s house, second shows at Calicut and the return walk from Kunnamangalam at midnight , parties, New Year eve…funs were endless.
Initially chats with Parveen and manitabh were dreadful for many. The diction we made for Hindi and English, some day will be used by the public! The “buryard, “badest” “beutifuller” were a few of that...

The days passed unleashed, the shift from Hira to Kudak, the heaven of dreams…. The food we prepared ourselves, kanji with curd and pickle, putte, the famous uppuma that I cooked. Though 5 of us were absent for class that day, that uppuma was delicious…!!! Often we used to have ghee rice and chicken for dinner...right?
Walks down to college at morning, Walks up the hill to Kudak with a small halt at the shop of “386” at evenings, Evening visits to Kattangal…, the way we returned after that, well… we didn’t knew that we were enjoying. There wud be no hosteller in our class who had never picked at least one banana of those Anand use to buy daily. We had taken care that never Anand slept without hunger.

Classroom funs were in many, right? The smile of Vimala madam that made us forget all our glooms, the boring afternoon classes and the polls we use to conduct during those class hours… How many of you remember the different poll questions? If u remember, u will laugh out of heart now! Few guest lecturers…the super NIT s, Deepa miss and the great AP.
Remember the days of seminar … with laptops, projector, making those equipments work, search for pen drives at the last moment… were dreadful for the “seminar presenter”, but was just another fun time for the rest 47.

Exam days….. Some with late night studies, a few with early morning studies, and rest with no studies!! Every exam day morning, do you remember, I use to sing so loud that had irritated you people a lot (in Kudak). Even now, I don’t know why did I do that but that just happened and unfortunately happened for every exam!!! Then the walk to canteen for breakfast holding the book open and referring them or discussing the chapters. After breakfast, you sit on the stairs, or the doorway near to the junior’s class, have the last glance to the Photostats.
The internal tests with “Ubundhu”, Soumya and other “Chechi”s as invigilators….we did exploit those conditions, haven’t we? The magic of Sushanth (Vanishing bits) to Ubundhu, was one of the best magic I had seen!!
Many of us, becomes too religious on exam days. We had teased them for their frequent visit to Temple on those days. I know, what crossed through your mind now, you were checking whether u belong to those...No man…, I said abt the guy who sits near to you in class!!!

The days of National Science Day celebrations….Walks for sponsorships under hot sun, wandering in groups at night with gum and posters, the surprise we had seeing the huge mob for the event…, u just won’t forget those.
The Rhythm 06 was eventful; operating in night was a new experience for doeaccians. The mimic rap of Rajesh and team with Ajesh playing Guitar still play in my eyes. Of course, the great skit of Jithesh, Shariq, Joseph and me crying out “enne vilicho Rajaave ne…” with Ajith as JAYAN….what to say?? Well…hats off to the serious performance of Anand, Jithesh, Joseph, Sithara and also the girls in those two group dances.
Rhythm 07, it was Prince all-around. The “kavitha” and the melodious “eghaantha Chandrike…” of him had been one of the “historical moments” of doeacc.
Also the group song, “yo big B”, that we wrote, we composed, we sung and we won!!

The days passed in quick time…But the journey which lasted for long (short?) 3 years was in ecstasy for every reason. We were different from other batches, but we enjoyed our MCA with what we were able to and the way we wanted to. It was on September 26th ‘07 that we had our final Project presentation and Viva. By that evening we packed our bags for the rest of the journey. We were preparing ourselves to break the bond and continue for rest of the funs and pains in life. By next day, every one of us departed in promise to “be in touch” and praying to the heavens “let this be not the end of it”…

The corridors of doeacc, our class room, the dew dropped mornings, the twilight of summer evenings that spreads over the car park near to LH, the corner table at canteen, the sweet smile of Ajnas, flooded road to the canteen on monsoons, the sodium lamp along the lane, the church in front, the mosque of Fridays, the sweet “payasam” of the temple… well…”I miss them” is the phrase that u have learned to say but u feel something far more than that, am I right?
Life goes on as this, hanging the loving realties to the wall of memories. These memories slowly as years pass, will fade into “forgotten memories”. But do accept and be faithful to the truth that, once…Once we all had a life together…
